Paula Harmon
Paula Harmon was born in London. She now lives in Dorset writing chiefly (but not exclusively) mystery fiction. She also gives illustrated talks about Victorian and Edwardian women’s history. These counter the accepted view that Victorian and Edwardian women were passive and insignificant. In her talks, she discusses the amazing – and sometimes bizarre – achievements of women who have largely been overlooked, forgotten or written over. She believes wholeheartedly in creativity for good mental health – whether writing or art or cooking or craft – anything that lets the mind run free and loves to explore it for herself and introduce it to others. But on a lighter note Paula also likes to explore the idea of parallel worlds which might occasionally cross into ours; to find humour and delight in the world around us and to strive for positivity. After all, as a child, Paula was certain that if she just looked in the right place, she’d find a real dragon. She’s still looking, but she knows they’re out there somewhere. It’s only a matter of time.
