With degrees from Stanford in music and communications (film) Bonnie MacBird is a thirty plus year vet of Hollywood where she’s worked as a studio feature film development executive (Universal), a screenwriter (TRON), a producer (three Emmys for documentary work), a playwright, theatre director, actor and audiobook reader. She currently writes full length Sherlock Holmes novels for HarperCollins (ART IN THE BLOOD, 2015 , UNQUIET SPIRITS, 2017, and THE DEVIL’S DUE, 2019) and splits her time between Los Angeles and London. MacBird is a member of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, the Baker Street Irregulars,(BSI) The Adventuresses of Sherlock Holmes (ASH), the MWA, Sisters in Crime, and runs The Sherlock Breakfast Club in Los Angeles. When in LA, she teaches writing at UCLA Extension but spends much of her time in London, the city of her heart. She is married to computer scientist Alan Kay.
