Frank Malley
Frank works as a volunteer ambulance car driver, transporting cancer patients to life-saving radiotherapy treatment at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. In another life he was a columnist with the Daily Express newspaper in London and former chief writer with Press Association Sport. He travelled the world reporting top events, including five Olympics and four football World Cups.
He has written five books:
The 13th Assassin – published by Sharpe Books (April 2022). A cosy murder mystery cum spy thriller and the first book in the Emily Stearn mysteries trilogy.
When The Mist Clears – Whisper Publishing (May 2020). A cosy crime mystery and the first book in the Lexford Town mysteries.
Simply The Best (Pitch Publishing 2017). The inside story of the most glorious era in Wigan rugby’s cup-winning history.
Living on the Deadline (Pitch Publishing May 2014). The memoir of Frank’s life as a global sports reporter covering international sport.
Champions (Simon & Schuster 1993). The story of Manchester United’s 26-year quest for glory culminating in the club becoming the first Premier League champions.
Royalties for his last four books go to charity, the most recent to the Primrose Cancer Charity in his adopted home town of Bedford where he lives with wife Carole.
A sequel to When the Mist Clears, entitled If it Looks Like a Duck, is scheduled to be published by Whisper Publishing in late Summer 2022. Frank is currently working on a sequel to The 13th Assassin, part of a three book series with Sharpe Books.
