Elizabeth Ducie
After a thirty-plus year career as a technical writer and consultant, I gave it all up in my sixties to tell lies for a living. I am a Brummie who spent many years living in cities and large towns, but have now moved to a small semi-rural location in Devon where I see myself happily living out my days.
I write both fiction and non-fiction. My main fiction genre is currently cozy mysteries set in the fictional village of Coombesford; think Midsomer Murders set in south Devon. The first in the series, Murder at Mountjoy Manor, was published in October 2021 and the second, Villainy at the Village Store, a year later. I am about to launch book 3, Calamity at Coombesford Church, 0n 17th October 2023 . At the same time, I’ve published two collections of short stories set in the village, Coombesford Calendar volumes I and II. While not necessarily crime stories, they serve as an introduction to the characters in the novels. The third volume will be published in spring 2024.
I am also the author of the Jones Sisters thrillers, set in the sometimes murky world of international pharmaceuticals. Finally, I write and teach on the topic of Author Business Foundations. I am a passionate believer in the legitimacy of self-publishing as an alternative to the more traditional routes, and I coach new indie authors through the first steps in the journey to publication.

In 2015, my debut novel, Gorgito’s Ice Rink, was runner up in the Self-Published Book of the Year Awards.
