Robin Perrie is an award-winning journalist who has reported on major news stories across the UK and abroad for more than 30 years including, most recently, the war in Ukraine.
His first book, I’m The Yorkshire Ripper, was published in March 2022 by Mirror Books.
Based on 16 years of material acquired by his co-author, Alfie James, from Peter Sutcliffe himself – including hundreds of letters and phone calls and dozens of face-to-face meetings at Broadmoor Hospital and Frankland Prison – it is the most detailed account ever of the life of the Yorkshire Ripper.
Robin studied law at Leeds University in the years following Sutcliffe’s arrest before beginning his journalism career with the weekly Morley Observer.
He then moved to the Yorkshire Evening Post and since 1995 has been one The Sun’s northern reporters.
A 12-page supplement written by Robin when Sutcliffe died won the Special Supplement of the Year Award in the Society of Editors Press Awards 2020.
