Karen Shughart
Karen Shughart is the author of the maritime-themed Edmund DeCleryk Cozy mystery series (Cozy Cat Press). All books in the series have historical subplots and recipes prepared by the sleuth’s wife, Annie, head of the local historical society who also assists her husband in solving the crimes.
Karen also is a co-author of two additional Cozy Cat mysteries, and the author of two non-fiction books. She is a member of Crime Writers Association of the UK, North America chapter; All Author; Hometown Reads; and Rochester Reads.

Karen and her husband live in a village on Lake Ontario, the prototype for the fictional Great Lakes coastal village of Lighthouse Cove. Prior to becoming an author of Cozy mysteries, she lived in southcentral Pennsylvania where she worked as an editor, publicist, journalist, teacher, and non-profit executive.
