Jo Smedley

Described by the press as “a not so serious serial killer,” Jo Smedley is a successful murder mystery game author and the managing director of Red Herring Games. A fictional assassin, Jo Smedley writes and develops murder mystery games and scripts for all ages and all type of events.

She has written bespoke plots for hotels, multi-national corporations, private parties and fundraising events in the UK, USA, Australia, and Russia, and her games and scripts are sold and performed world-wide.

Her first full length novel was published in 2017, and since then she’s created the long running episodic Cosykiller Series (7 seasons of 12 episodes!) which has taken up a lot of her time.  She has two non-fiction books, the second was published in 2024 and explains the art of murder mystery game creation.
