2017 CWA Conference a huge success
The Apex Waterloo Hotel in the historic city of Edinburgh was the setting for the 2017 CWA annual conference, which was well-attended, and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
In addition to the banquet and some fascinating and informative guest speakers, there was a choice of outings on the Saturday, and on Sunday at Blackwells bookshop we met the readers with an event called ‘Dates with Dangerous Authors’.
Our thanks are due to the hard-working organisers who did a marvellous job, and the student helpers who loved being involved.
Talking of students, we ran a CWA Next Generation Flash Fiction Competition for MA students at nearby universities. If you’d like to read the winning entries, pop over to our Debuts page.
We also welcomed entries to a short fiction competition for delegates. These are reproduced in a post on the CRA website.
Congratulations also to Wendy Jones who won the Donald Trump Tweetalike competition.
Thanks to photographers Gary Stratmann and students Sarah Saville and Marianna Desterac for their fabulous images of what was a wonderful occasion. See photos below from Gary and click on the links for Marianna’s pix and Sarah’s pix.
