Shortlisted

Michael Baker

A Convient Ignorance

Michael Baker was born and bred in Tyneside. Under the pen name Patrick Eden, he won the 2010 Debut Dagger Award for the opening chapters of a novel entitled, “A Place of Dying”. However, for a number of reasons, never managed to finish and publish it. In the intervening years, he continued to practice and read, being long-listed twice for the same award. Now an Uncle to two beautiful girls, he spends his time writing, buying too many books, and being overly and unfairly critical of his own work. His favourite authors include Ian Rankin, Stephen King, R.J. Ellory, Simon Brett and Val McDermid. He is nothing if not determined.
