Mette McLeod trained as an interrogator and intelligence officer in the Norwegian army, before being recruited to join the Service. She went on to become a journalist reporting from all over the world, and spent two years as a correspondent in Moscow. McLeod is a final year student at the City University Crime/Thriller Writing MA, under the tutelage of Claire McGowan.

But an assignment in Moscow to track down an 11-year-old boy and his alcoholic father soon turns deadly as she finds their lives are bound up with the fate of billions in Communist Party wealth that has lain hidden since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
