A new wife is alarmed by her husband’s secretive behaviour, especially when she discovers a gun in his drawer, tucked inside a Persian slipper. Before Holmes’ investigation can begin, the husband is found shot dead, the bullet fired through the toe of the slipper. It soon becomes obvious that the deceased had a great deal to hide.
