The Secret of Spandau

Originally published in 1986 using the penname Peter Lear, this is about a fictional attempt to spring Rudolf Hess, Hitler’s former deputy, from his prison cell in Spandau. Much of it was based on research by the author in East Berlin, including interviews with Eugene Bird, the US director at the prison, who knew Hess personally. The latest edition from Severn House was in 2016.
